Beating the poker champs and the clowns

Sunday, December 21st, 2008

Whether you’re playing against some of the greatest poker players in the world or just another Average Joe, you can’t let anyone get in your head. Once you get the chip lead at the table, someone will constantly be trying to get in your head. You have to keep playing your game, because your game got you that chip lead, and your game can keep it too, no matter what anyone is saying to you. Keeping a cool head is one of the most important things you can do at the table, no matter how much money you’re playing for or who it’s against.

A lot of times you’ll run into the professionals and at first, they can be a little intimidating. You have the same chances as they do as long as you don’t let them break down your game. It’s the same with the hecklers of the game; you have to keep your cool. Frustration will set in on them, because they’re not pulling you out of your comfort zone, getting your chips, and if they can’t pull you out of your zone, you can beat them. Poker is a game of numbers and judgment and as long as you don’t break down, you have the same chance of winning as the next guy, let the cards decide.

Facing players who are experts

One should not be unmotivated when he learns that his opponent’s a tough player. It doesn’t even matter if you’re a novice at handling the poker chip. Once at the poker tables, one has to remember that it’s just a matter of luck and some skills. Use your opponent’s drawbacks as your plus points. Do not let him or her take advantage of you. Instead you take his advantage. Do not also reveal any uneasiness that you experience. Do not also show that you are nervous. Instead, proceed with self-confidence.

If one’s new at poker then he shouldn’t reveal this at the game. The opponent should think that you are an expert too. You have to handle the chip set with even more care and try to outwit your opponent when it comes to securing the highest number of chips.

It may be the clay chip or any other kind of chip you just have to be the best in getting the highest number of chips and have to have the cheap lead. The same applies for attaining the Texas Hold’em chip also. Be positive when you face expert opponents.

Texas Hold’EM Poker is a favorite game among poker players. It is considered to be an easy game and suitable for novice players. There are no definite guidelines for winning this type of game. Players need to make correct judgment, do proper betting and have loads of luck to win this game. Texas Hold’EM poker is played with a number of players who are dealt two playing cards each and the rest are the community cards which are on the poker table. The players bet and raise their bet depending on the cards they are holding and also the community cards placed on the table. When all the community cards are dealt there is a showdown when players show their hand.

While playing this game it is vital to keep the details of your playing cards to yourself. You should not give any clue about what kind of cards you have. For instance moving your set of 100 texas hold’em chips in a certain fashion can be a give away if you repeat a pattern. If a player wishes to win then he has to keep on changing his style and not play in the same manner repeatedly. If a player does so then his opponents will understand his game and that would not be in the interests of the player. A player should be on the lookout for change in behavior or betting pattern of his opponents. It is a definite clue about his opponent’s hand.
